Poem: Bottles

after Borg de Nobel

three empty bottles, three empty cans
one empty beaker, one empty pint
glass (none
that hold air,

__________eight servings of the bare
wall outlined in chubby pink or cyanosis
or gold that can’t be bought

____________________purity
______is a full jug of wine

take off the corks
and there’s already blood

    purity
is a full jug of wine
    take off the corks
    and there’s already blood…dang…this is tight…in vino veritas they say…and they’re right..

In vino veritas is pretty much my motto these days.

You served up a fine response here…with bottles and cans all empty, but, thankfully, a full jog of wine. Nice.

dang…from purity on this really rips for me…the whole thing has great flow but that part speaks to me…the blood…the full jug….wondering at spiritual undertones in that…

mine came from…first thought was the symbiotic relationships of the birds and elephants…second with the train image was a parade because they were all in a line…and having just started school and watching the kids go round and round the square…it all just came together…see my mind is jacked up..ha.

Very concise, and also hard hitting in the drinking and empty bottle and cans.
    ‘take off the corks
    and there’s already blood’
    Well penned.

Yeah, wonder whether there is a spiritual reference here with the purity…wine and blood connection…or, maybe there’s not. Well done.

I hadn’t really thought of a spiritual reference while writing this (but I probably should have).

Empty bottles and cans is a life lived, not breathing in wait. Nice.

love the empty/full contrast throughout. Some really cool lines, love the 8 servings of the bare, has a real incongruity feel to it. Great take on the piece. Thanks
